I flashback to the feeling that came over my whole body when our eyes first locked on that night in November Even to this very day I can remember
You were kind and respectful and I was sarcastic and rude I poked fun at you and you blushed thinking how crude
You became shy and walked away
But you stood in my distance, I burned for you to stay
You appeared tough yet child like I guess we were somewhat alike
Your blue eyes met mine and for the first time in my life I felt a rush of emotion
My heart was beating, it all felt like slow motion
You didn't want to believe I was into you I would regret it if I didn't pursue
I then noticed you were with somebody else all together
She looked like her name could of been Jo,Renee, or Heather
I didn't know what to do so I gave a final wink
Just my luck, I felt my heart suddenly sink
You looked at my guy friend and looked let down I
t felt like the world stopped and nobody made a sound
I walked over to the jukebox to play a final song Rod Stewart "Do ya think" blared and I danced like nothing was wrong
My crew gathered up and we walked out the door I felt like I forgot something, I wanted so much more
Just as we were going to vanish out of each others lives forever
I heard a loud voice come running out and at last we met face to face together
You were the one, the one that almost got away
The one that to this day makes me feel like tomorrow's a new day
And as we shared that kiss I heard angels sing
We didn't care where each other has been, where we were going or what the future was going to bring
All we knew was for some reason we were brought together and our lives were never going to be the same
This is true love and for once not a game
Two lost souls felt whole for once
We haven't felt this good for years and months
You are my soul mate, there is no other
You are closer to me than my mother, father, sister, brother 50 years later, I'm looking at you sleeping peacefully next to me
And underneath our gray hair and wrinkles are what we will always be
Two crazy kids brought together by destiny

Happy Anniversary
